Charles Darby and the ALRC Council wish to announce the cancellation of the 2021 ALRC National Rally.
We, like all of you, are very disappointed that this decision has had to be made but know that you will all agree that it would be both foolhardy and irresponsible for the event to run, in light of the ongoing situation throughout the country. We were hoping that things would improve and that restrictions would be lifted early this year however, with the new variants of COVID-19 appearing all over the country, we do not feel that any events should run that involve bringing together people from the different area tiers. Obviously we cannot predict where we will be by the end of May but feel it is prudent to make this decision now, especially as it is still not possible to start work on preparing the site for use, which will take several weeks if not months.
The landowner is still very keen for us to hold our event there in 2022 when it can be a full blown celebration! On a positive note, it has been proposed to try to include a Time Trial competition at the 2022 event, as these are proving to be very popular with both competitors and spectators alike.
Dates for the 2022 event will be confirmed later this year.
For any of you that already hold bookings, Debby Darby will be in touch to confirm if you would like to hold these over until the next event or wish to have a refund.
