COUNTRYSIDE ISSUES

The new Chairman of RoWRC is John Grogan, MP for Selby. Tim Stevens is writing to him asking him to arrange a meeting.

LARA is seeking a legal opinion regarding challenging certain effects of the NERC Act and the meaning of some sections.  Workshops could be arranged on the effects of NERC and exceptions to the Act or other topics that concern member organisations.

Following the NERC Act, LARA has revised the Drivers' Countryside Code of Conduct by deleting reference to the use of winches.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park has recently established a Green Lane Advisory Group that includes a 4x4 representative.
