The latest update on the DEFRA guidance - affecting
motor sport on farming land due to the Single Payment System.
LARA delivered the judicial review papers to the high
court on Friday and later in the day DEFRA issued the updated guidance
which now allows motor sport to take place for up to 28 days on eligible
land during the 10 month qualifying period. For the latest guidance
issued by DEFRA see www.defra.gov.uk/
However the situation is being kept under review.
LARA’s legal challenge will remain “on the
table” for the time being as it seeks to establish the legal position
and not simply rely on guidance from DEFRA
This is obviously good news and hopefully clubs can
now get back to organizing a full years calendar of events.
