The 2009 ALRC National Rally was a great success.
The weather was warm and sunny for most of the weekend and I am sure
that all in attendance had wished they had packed the sun cream!
The site at Manby Motorplex lends itself to our type of events.
Being a disused airfield, there is a great expanse of level ground
for camping/caravans with ready made off-road capability right
alongside the camping ground.
Rally Control and Site
Services worked tirelessly throughout the weekend ran particularly
smoothly with site access very well controlled and ensured we could take
water, toilets and waste receptacles for granted.
All competitions ran well,
with finishes by 4pm every day - almost unheard of in recent years!

The Traders on
site added that extra to the event with Ice-cream in great demand,
freshly cooked food from Field Kitchen and the Hog Roast, Outdoor
equipment (a lot of hats to keep the sun off), Dave Mitchell's
Landcraft and some were
seen to be purchasing spares for their vehicles from a number of
stalls over the weekend.
The Beer Tent, (a large
marquee) provided a massive choice of real ale, some lager and cider and
of course a great location for the presentations and social gatherings
over the weekend.
The
ALRC National Rally Organising Committee
wish to extend thanks to all who attended the 2009 National Rally.
Without the competitors and campers, the event would make a massive loss.
But
most of all, thanks to each and every one of you that assisted
in anyway over the weekend to ensure the event
was the success we had all hoped for.
We
look forward to meeting you all and many others you may spread the word to
at the ALRC National 2010, hosted by The Cornwall & Devon Land Rover
Club
